The Baldwin girls softball team picked up a big second-round playoff win on Monday, defeating  Mt. Lebanon 4-1.

Senior Bella Rossa said the game represented some of their best work as a team.

“After our first bats we got into a rhythm and started hitting the ball hard,” Rossa said. “Our fielding was also strong.”

Senior Carly Santillo said the team went into the game confident and determined, traits that led to their win.

Addie Tagg, Taylor Dadig and Cassie Carlson stood out in performance and leadership, Santillo said.

“I think it was Addie’s best pitching game of the year. She hit all of her spots and stayed focused during the entire game,” Santillo said.

The team is set to play Latrobe on Wednesday in the semi-finals.

“In my sophomore year, we got second place in the championships and I’m hoping we can come back my senior year and get that first-place title,” Santillo said.
