Game Four presents challenge for Pens
May 3, 2018
With the Pittsburgh Penguins seeming to struggle against the Washington Capitals throughout their playoff series so far, fans from both sides await anxiously to see what will happen in Game Four tonight.
Although the Pens have the home advantage, the Capitals’ defense has been able to overcome the Pens’ ability to score.
In this series specifically, disputable calls made by the referees have been a constant, the most recent being the incident that led to Tom Wilson’s three-game suspension. Pens fans would obviously agree that Wilson deserves this, and some may say he deserves more.
When it comes down to it, though, performance is what will really bring home a win.
Being able to keep up and not taking pointless penalties will help the Penguins at the end of the day. Because the Capitals’ defense has kept the Penguins from winning their past two games, it is crucial for the Pens to get their offense working tonight.
With home advantage tonight, the Pens have a chance to tie the series and shift the momentum. The Penguins do not have to worry about Wilson for the next three games, so it seems that they might have the perfect opportunity to overcome the Caps.
On the other hand, a third loss in a row would hurt the Penguins in more ways than one. Not only would they have to win three games in a row to win the series, but two of them would be in Washington.
It is safe to say Pittsburgh is hoping for a win on Thursday, but it is hard to say whether the Penguins will be able to prevail in Game Four.
