The boys baseball team suffered a tough 2-1 defeat to the section-leading Bethel Park Blackhawks on Wednesday.

The team went up against Bethel Park’s number one pitcher. Senior shortstop Jordan Rush took many positives away from the game, however.

“We held the lead until the second-to-last inning, but a couple of mistakes in the end cost us. We played with a lot of heart, and battled one of the best teams down to the wire,” Rush said.

Baldwin fell to 1-4 in section play and will look to turn its season around on Friday against Peters Township.

“We are better than our record shows. The key is to just take it one game at a time. If we can  do that and put the ball in play, good things will happen,” Rush said.
