They got the scoop: She made new friends on staff

Back when she was a Baldwin student, social studies teacher Natalie Grattan joined The Purbalite after being featured in the paper’s “student spotlight” feature.
“That story got me interested,” Grattan said.
Grattan mostly wrote general news stories, usually about student organizations.
Back then, she said, the print edition of the paper was the main way students heard about many events.
“All the Junior Prom details, like location and time, were in the paper,” Grattan said.
Her most memorable newspaper moments include making friends that she “didn’t have a lot in common with” other than their work with the paper.
