After Monday night’s win against Mars by a score of 3-1, Baldwin’s varsity ice hockey team is one step closer to the PIHL playoffs.

Having never played Mars, senior captain Nick Antonio said it was difficult to know what to expect going into Monday’s game.

“I think that the game set the tone for what is expected of the team if we are to make it to playoffs,” Antonio said.

Having just recovered from a concussion, Baldwin’s goalie, junior Cole Shannon, played especially well, Antonio said.

Dan Figura, Andrew Golvash, and Cameron Greenaway scored for the Highlanders.

The team plays Hempfield next week in its final game. If the Highlanders win, they will be in the playoffs.
