Three Baldwin ice hockey players — senior Dan Figura and juniors Cole Shannon and Ross Zofcin — have been named to the AA All-Star team.

Shannon is ranked fourth in the division among goaltenders with a 2.96 goals against average.

“Cole always comes out strong for us. He is a consistent player for our team,” Figura said.

Zofcin leads the team in scoring. He is also ranked in the top 20 of scorers in the division.

Figura is a standout defenseman, helping his team on both ends of the ice. He is an assistant captain for the team.

He has been playing hockey since he was 5 years old and said this is a great way to mark his senior year. Figura said he was not expecting to be selected for the all-star team, but that it “is great to see all [his] hard work pay off.”

The hockey team has an overall record of 7-7-1 so far, and although the season has had its ups and downs compared to previous years, they have still managed to play at a competitive level throughout the year.

The team is currently not in position for the playoffs, but the Highlanders hope to clinch a spot through wins in their upcoming games.
