Boys basketball lose to Mt. Lebanon
January 10, 2018
The varsity boys basketball team fell to top-ranked Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday night by a final score of 66-43.
The Highlanders stayed close through most of the game, entering the fourth quarter only down by eight points.
“We had confidence going into the the game,” senior Mike Goga said. “They are a really good team, and in the end we just fell apart.”
Senior Nick Fiumara was a big part in keeping the team in the game.
“Nick played really well,” Goga said. “The other team was giving him a lot of pressure and he handled it well. He also scored when we really needed it.”
The team currently holds a 1-3 record in its section. Their next game is on Friday against Canon-McMillan.
“Canon-Mac is a good team too,” Goga said. “We have to win that game if we want a chance at playoffs this year.”
