During the first half of Tuesday’s game against Chartiers Valley, junior Shane Gilbert was hopeful about snagging a win.

The second half did not go well, though, and Baldwin lost, 61-44.

The team’s poor play execution and poor shooting contributed to the loss in momentum from the first half.

“I think we passed pretty well, but we didn’t really shoot too well,” Gilbert said.

Standout players for Baldwin included Jeremy Jenkins and Mike Goga for their leadership and “getting the ball around,” Gilbert said.

The team is looking forward to its first section game, against Connellsville on Friday, and working on fundamentals.
