The girls varsity soccer team had a big weekend, beating Hollidaysburg 4-3 and Juniata 4-1.

“It was a really competitive weekend,” junior midfielder Mandi Bellas said.

Senior Kelsey Heenan, one of the main defenders, couldn’t play because of a potential concussion, so senior Katie Doyle took her place.

“Katie plays with us all the time,” Bellas said, “so that wasn’t much of an adjustment.  But I missed Kelsey because she’s great.”

The team spent long hours in the bus on the way to Altoona but it gave them a chance to bond, she said

The team has a section game tonight in the gym against Upper Saint Clair at 7:30 p.m. and another home game against Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday.
