Everybody talks about increasing school spirit, but tomorrow students have a chance to do something about it  — and earn a prize in the process.

The Key Club is making an effort to encourage students to show their Highlander Pride with Purple Fridays.

Every Friday, fifth period teachers will count how many students in their class are wearing purple. At the end of the month, the class with the greatest percentage of students participating will earn a prize from the Key Club.

Counselor Caroline Babik, Key Club sponsor, had the idea for the promotion of spirit at the high school.

“I think it is a great way to improve overall school spirit,” senior and Key Club member Jessica Murray said.
