The girls softball team defeated Peters Township, 2-1, Monday night in the second round of WPIAL playoffs at California University of Pennsylvania.

During the regular season, the girls had defeated the Indians twice in games shortened by the “10-run” rule. Monday’s playoff game was much closer.

“We clearly did not hit as well as we could have,” senior Ana Hale said.

The girls will either go up against Shaler or Greater Latrobe in their next playoff game. Shaler is ranked first in the WPIAL, Hale said.

“We are going to work on our hitting in our upcoming practices to hopefully advance to the next round,” Hale said.
