Kanye West announced last year that there would be a compilation album from his G.O.O.D. Music label. The release date eventually got pushed back to Sept. 18, practically making it a Cruel Autumn. The leadoff track, “To the World,” features R&B legend R. Kelly on a song that sounds like a spinoff of “Lift Off” from Watch the Throne. After a series of previously released singles — “Clique,” “Mercy,” and “New God Flow” — the album finally introduces a new song, “The Morning,” which features so many people that it feels like just another G.O.O.D. Friday release. The album starts to collapse after that. Overall, though, it is entertaining. It’s not a Kanye album; it’s a G.O.O.D Music album and it really shows.
