Social studies teacher Ed Helbig is one of 11 Baldwin graduates selected for the inaugural class of the Alumni Hall of Fame.
“It is an honor to even be considered for this award,” Helbig said. “It is overwhelming to be nominated with such distinguished individuals.”
Other inductees included U.S. Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah); Whitehall Mayor James Nowalk; FBI Special Agent and former Navy Seal Gregory Klaus; former Baldwin mayor and police Sgt. Alexander Bennett Jr., Whitehall council member Kathleen DePuy, biomedical engineer Dr. Shawn K. Kelly; Grove City College President Paul McNulty; Dennis Yablonsky, president and CEO of the Allegheny Conference of Community Development; William Lambert, president and CEO of MSA Safety Inc.; and geologist and Antarctic researcher Michelle Rogan-Finnemore.
The inductees will be recognized at the district’s 75th Anniversary Gala at South Hills Country Club on May 2.
