Based on the novel by Ruth Ware, the new Netflix movie A Woman in Cabin 10, effectively creates an ominous and unpredictable mood.
The movie follows Laura “Lo” Blacklock, played by Keira Knightley, a journalist who is invited to cover a cruise on a luxury ship. The cruise is to honor Anne Bullmer, the wife of Richard Bullmer, since she is fighting cancer.
On the cruise, Blacklock witnesses a woman going overboard, but soon finds out that no one on board is missing.
However, when it seems like the movie is going in one direction, a plot twist occurs that intensifies the story. The movie’s unpredictability really allows the audience to immerse themselves in the story of Blacklock and her efforts to prove that a woman is missing from the ship.
The cinematography for the film is nice, but it is Knightley’s acting that ties everything together.
In contrast, there are some moments where the acting by those portraying side characters is subpar, but it does not affect the movie’s result.
The movie is also around 90 minutes long, making it a quick watch for viewers who want to experience the thrill of a mystery.
This movie is recommended for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy absorbing mystery stories.
