Fox News host and popular right wing commentator Tucker Carlson has released an episode of his series, Tucker Carlson Originals, that highlights problems that he sees in the world of comedy today.

In the 28-minute long mini-documentary, Carlson says “comedy is the hallmark of a free society.” This is ironic, since Carlson is known for his support of deplatforming and discrediting left-leaning political and public figures. Tucker is basically saying that he wants all leftist or more Democratic influences in media, specifically comedy, to be removed and replaced by Republican-approved content.

Given his abrasive and belligerent style, it’s understandable why some people may disagree with him based on only a surface understanding of who Tucker Carlson is. However, through the ideas he shares in the episode, Carlson is revealed to be even worse than the media portrays him.

Carlson goes so far as to support an alleged abuser, the comedian Louis C.K. He says the comic was only brought down by “woke cancel culture” due to his edgy jokes. But Louis C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct by five women in 2017 , as a New York Times story explained.

Carlson makes the claim that Louis was attacked by a woke mob on the internet because of his material. But the material was actually a mere fraction of the reasoning behind the comedian’s online cancellation.

While showing several clips of Black Lives Matter protesters as well as people protesting for trans rights, Tucker says, “The most easily offended, the most hypersensitive people … establish a cultural norm.” He uses the arrangement of the clips to paint the picture of the bad guy in his argument, the “woke left.”

The deceitful nature of Carlson’s broadcasts are always amazing as they perfectly highlight the scared, stubborn, and uneducated side of American media.
