CD Review: Arctic Monkeys- AM

arctic-monkeys-am

2.5 Stars

Arctic Monkeys, an indie rock-band, has released its fifth album, Am, and it adds up to about 40 minutes of boring. “R U Mine?” one of their featured songs, is very likeable. It highlights the talent of the singer and deserves its spot among their top singles. It’s well put together and doesn’t overplay the chorus, making it one of the only songs that has qualities that separate it from the others in the album. Unfortunately, the rest of the songs on the album sound the same. After about two minutes of listening to a song, it becomes very boring. They all start differently, but surely and quickly it drops into monotone singing that’s just like the song before it. The album itself isn’t very interesting, with little reason to be very excited about it, but lots of reason to be bored by it. The songs are all essentially the same, and listening to one is the same as listening to them all.
