Saltworks Theatre returned to Baldwin today to perform its drug-awareness play, ¨The Way Out” for students in the auditorium.
This show addresses the opioid and heroin epidemic through the story of Kayla, a student athlete with a promising future whose life is ruined by addiction.
The show informed students of the dangers of drug abuse, and how to find help. The actors and actresses said being a positive influence to people who are suffering is the best thing others can do to help them.
The production was received well by students.
“This story was very eye opening, especially to people who may need it,” junior Maddie Earley said. “I think it’s really important for students to see because it is a problem in our community.”
