Students looking to turn a fashion statement into a way of helping others may want to take advantage of the Spanish Club’s upcoming bracelet sale.

Through the club’s participation in an international effort called the Pulsera Project, students will be able to buy bracelets that are handmade by Nicaraguan and Guatemalan artisans. Each bracelet will cost $5, and that entire amount will go back to the artisan who created the bracelet.

Each bracelet will come with a tag that includes the name and photo of the person who made the bracelet and that person’s country.

Club sponsor Rebecca Michalski discovered the website and proposed the project to the club. Pulsera means bracelet in Spanish.

Junior Emilee Spozarski, the club’s social media officer, is looking forward to the bracelet sale project.

“It’s about showing people less fortunate with great talents,” she said.

The Pulsera Project runs from Feb. 22 through March 1. Bracelets will be for sale outside the cafeteria.
