TEDx looks for `game changing’ ideas

The theme for this year’s TEDx talk is “Game Changer,” and organizers are looking for people who are interested in speaking at the event.

English teacher Dr. Daniel Harrold, who leads the event, said he prefers to keep the themes broad so speakers have the opportunity to take their speeches in any number of directions.

“The talks are usually told as stories, but (speakers) are able to touch on new ideas or reinvent old ones,” Harrold said.

Harrold is seeking students for this year’s event as well as staff, alumni, or people who have a history with the district. He aims to fill half of the spots with students, as has happened in the program’s first two years.

The third annual TEDx talk will take place April 20. Students and staff interested in speaking, or nominating a speaker, can talk to Harrold. The nomination form also is available at: bit.ly/TEDxBWapp
