Located in Mt. Lebanon, the Blue Canary Coffee House is without a doubt one of the best coffee houses in the Pittsburgh area. The coffee house is almost a hidden gem among many of the other Mt. Lebanon shops, but as soon as customers enter the door there is a sense of family. All of the products are sourced locally, so freshness is never a question when ordering. The owners and founders, husband and wife Steve and Rena Antosz, make all of the flavor syrups from scratch, which give the drinks a unique taste that won’t mock the overused flavors of Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts. Visitors can expect to be greeted by a warm-hearted staff and to get incredibly quick service. Unlike many other coffee houses, the location is headache free and lines that seem never-ending aren’t existent. Blue Canary doesn’t just have coffee: they also offer teas and hot chocolate that is also brewed in-house to ensure freshness. The only downside is the location, as parking on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard can be inconvenient depending on the time of the day, but generally isn’t a problem. Blue Canary Coffee house surely won’t disappoint any coffee drinkers, whether they are the early morning work commuter or the everyday hipster.
